Some important updates for this weekend U12 – U15 state tournament.

Brackets will be published in the next 24-48 hours.

7:30-8:30 am – 12U Weigh-in + 12U/15UGirls States
9:00 am – 12pm – 12U wrestling + 
                             12U/15U Girls States ( We will likely madison this event, so will start a little later)
10:30-11:30 am – 15U Weigh-in
12pm – finish – 15U Wrestling

We will place the top 6 only.

If you do not make weight you do not wrestle NO EXCEPTIONS. You may not wrestle at the Big EAST.

If your athlete wrestled at sections and did not win any matches but qualified for states you may choose to wrestle at the Big East. Do not come to states and weigh-in. When we have the site and details finalized for Big East more details will come out.

Team Scoring -There were some questions about team scoring at sections. The scoring from this past weekend remains and those scores are final, we will not revisit those from this past weekend.

For scoring at the State Tournament we will follow what is stated in our Bi-Laws. https://www.usawmwa.org/bylaws
Specifically Article 2 : “Scoring Qualified Wrestling Organization: Any team participating in the MWA State Tournament Series that only competes and practices within the MWA Folkstyle Season. These teams will be able to compete within the tournament series scoring tournament team points for an overall team championship at the conclusion of the tournament. All teams that do not qualify for this are allowed to compete in the tournament series but will not be qualified to score as a team.”
If you would like to see this done differently next season please work with the board to come up with an amendment to the by-laws for next season.
