Additional Information
YNEW is a New England Championship tournament with the following period lengths: championship bouts (1.5-minute periods); consolation bouts (1-minute periods). Championship and consolation matches will be wrestled to determine up to six place finishers for both CO-ED and GIRLS age groups. Outstanding and most dominant wrestlers will be awarded in three age groups for CO-ED and GIRLS competition.

Team awards will be earned in school and club divisions for the CO-ED competition and in a single division for the GIRLS competition. Club teams are programs that train year-round (more than 6 months). Town/school teams are teams that train less than 6 months. Team points will be scored by the top 13 scorers for each team.

Wrestlers who belong to both a wrestling club and a town/school program may score points for both teams. Wrestlers should declare their affiliations during registration, and should also designate a display team for brackets. Coaches and wrestlers are asked to use integrity when declaring their affiliations to club and town teams.
